After the overwhelming amount of nominations received last year, the Y Inspired Young Person Awards are back for another round in 2021! At the Y, we believe in the power of inspired young people and this award acknowledges all the children who have demonstrated inspiring behaviour, reached achievements, great or small, and made contributions to the community that stand out.
Last year’s winners and runners up were recognised for a range of inspiring actions including offering to do elderly neighbours’ shopping during the COVID-19 pandemic, always displaying a friendly, positive attitude as well as improving on their writing, reading and counting.
“I always saw Khloe-Martina helping kids with their schoolwork, comforting them when they were upset and my son said all the other kids love, trust and respect Khloe-Martina as she’s so kind. She is an inspiration”, read the nomination for last year’s Inspired Young Person Award winner, Khloe-Martina.
Nominations for the award are open from Wednesday 12 May and close on Friday 11 June. OSHC staff, parents and care givers of a young person attending our Outside School Hours Care services are welcome to nominate and recognise them for their inspiring achievements and efforts, big or small! To hear about all the inspiring moments throughout the awards process, visit the Y WA Outside School Hours Care Facebook page.
The winners from each OSHC will be announced the week starting Monday 19 July and the overall winner will be announced the week starting Monday 8 August. The winner from each OSHC service will receive a $25 gift voucher and the overall winner will a $100 gift voucher.
